Keith Brown and Kenny Johnson first became friends almost 25 years ago as architects in Evanston, IL. Their friendship from the beginning revolved around a love for music and visual arts; resulting in the pair attending live concerts, art shows, and having “sessions” where they would listen to the body of work of an artist for hours at a time.
Brown, who goes by the pseudonym “Takako Konishi”, began to focus more on painting and collage art, while Johnson, also known as “Kenworth ‘Bluemonk’ Dolby”, developed his musical skills. Keith started showing his artwork in local and national exhibits, and Kenny was performing in local live shows. This combination of a shared love for art and music resulted in the creation of GIT LIT Productions LLC, an art and music event promotion company, in late 2018.
Since then, they have created and hosted several events in Chicago and the suburbs. The duo has high aspirations of creating larger events where art and music is combined to create a sense of space, interesting sound-scapes, and a “bizarre” carnival like atmosphere.
